Q: Has your winch been under water
We designed our winch and control pack to be waterproof. They are all IP65 waterproof and can be submerged without worry of water intrusion.
Q: What can I do to reduce the likelihood of water damage
If your winch is immersed in salt water, make sure you rinse that liquid out of the device with cold tap water. We recommend not exposing your winch to pressurized water, high velocity water.
Q: Can this be used as a boat trailer winch
NO.
Q: would this be enough for an enclosed car trailer
YES. Just make sure you are getting the right site for the load you are willing.
TIPS:
Never exceed the winch rated capacity.
Never mount winch in overhead hoisting position or use for overhead hoisting.
Avoid long-duration pulls. The heavier the load, the harder your winch works.
